This parking simulation game features highly-detailed car models that will make any car enthusiast eager to collect them all. They are unlockable through purchases and you can earn in-game money by completing parking levels. Unlike most car games, however, Real Car Parking 2 does not focus on racing mechanics despite the genre of games it’s placed at. This game says it all in its name: it’s about parking so all you have to do is drive your car to your destination and properly park it without incident. 

You can amass a whole garage full of cars but they’re mostly just for aesthetic display and you are not going to be burning rubber on asphalt most of the time. The main core of this game is safe driving inside the city—although the real-life dangers of it are mostly downplayed as you don’t meet any other cars driving around the map. There are various levels wherein you need to reach a parking spot without damaging your car or others. Hit something three times and you fail the level.

The map is filled with narrow roads, alleys, parking lots, and parked cars that serve as your natural obstacles. You need to carefully drive around using the real-life controls in order to avoid scratching your hard-won vehicle. The parking goals are usually placed somewhere nearby and plausible—and sometimes, you need to reach more than one space to win the level. Fortunately, each level has helpful yellow glowing directional symbols that point you to where you need to go.

Realism is part of the charm

Real Car Parking 2’s cars all have 3D next-generation graphics so you can have a stylish ride while you learn to drive. Each car model is customizable with its paint job and parts, and you can buy other designs, too. They all have realistic car sounds, as well, to immerse you in the game. You can switch between third-person and first-person perspective to change the difficulty of the levels. The first-person view entails seeing the interior of your car—and the game doesn’t skimp out on detailing this either. 

For the controls, this car-parking game is similar to most simulation games of this nature. You have a steering wheel joystick at your left side, with the different light buttons above it. On the right side, there’s the accelerator, brake, gear stick, Stop Engine control, rearview mirror, camera, and settings. Just like in real life, you need to manually activate these controls, such as starting the engine and buckling in with your seatbelt. It even has parking sensors that will alert you. 

This game plays out as a safety instructor with its tutorial. It teaches parking tricks and reminds you to drive calmly in order to avoid hitting anything. While it doesn’t have other AI-controlled cars around to give you more of a challenge, this game ensures that you know your controls well. If you want a change of pace, you can try its multiplayer mode to interact with other players. However, it’s more of a lounge area where you can just cruise around.

A helpful simulation

If you want to learn how to drive without the tutorial being so boring, then Real Car Parking 2 is a recommended game to try out. It has cool customizable car models and accurate information on vehicle controls and road safety. However, don’t expect it to be a complete guide on how to drive—nor should you expect the tutorial to reveal every trick you can do with your buttons. Nevertheless, it’s a fun game for car fans.
